Studs and I'm not talking about my boyfriend!

Studs. They are everywhere and living the dream on our clutches, leather jackets, our chuck taylor's and even on our cocktail dresses! I love this look! I feel a little rock n' roll but still very I chic! This trend is all about embracing the 'stud' on our everyday items! I mean seriously who wouldn't want to wear a a leather jacket bedazzled with studs on the collar?

model as muse

I bought a coffee table book a few months ago...While in NY over the summer I dragged my fiance to the Met. While scanning the list of exhibitions I saw it in black and white. The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion. My heart instantly started beating faster and a fashion tear was brought to my eye...yes, really a tear! The exhibit was absolutely amazing! It was a visual tour of fashion and its muse. Models. To be able to see these moments in fashion history really brought my love to a whole new level! The Model as Muse highlighted all the models that have advanced fashion. My two favorites were present, Jessica Stam and Gemma Ward-amazing! So you see I bought this coffee table, and I just love it! Check out the site for pictures!!!!! www.metmuseum.org/

long sleeves...don't mind if i do!

All the rage is long sleeve mini dresses! I am really loving the idea of this, first of all it will be really beneficial on those chilly nights out and Second will be a great alternative to the office cardigan!---well i don't go to an office so who am I kidding here, all of you that go to a office! I have been holding onto an amazing long sleeve dress for over 2 years, but it was an awkward length, so it remained unworn. Now I think that I will go ahead and get the piece altered.....so exciting. Great with tights, leggings or even over jeans ( depending on length)! Loving the cooler day's and chilly nights!

rough and stuff with my afro...Louis Vuitton?

Ok...so I guess that we can expect Afros are coming back in season...if Marc Jacobs is doing it for Paris Fashion Week I am going assume that we may see a revival of this 70's hairstyle! My sister rocks one so I guess she must be a muse:) The Louis Vuitton show also featured printed LV spandex bicycle shorts under short dresses and skirts? I am a little hesitant on the bike short thing....I personally do not want 3 muffin tops... one around the top and two peeking out below...not so cute :{ The runway was filled with over sized messenger bags, muted colors and ill fitting clothes that were thrown together. This show has left me feeling confident in my current closet and not ready to jump on the bicycle short band wagon.

As I walked into Forever21 the other day I suddenly realized that I actually stepped into the jungle! It appeared that every other rack was leopard inspired...every color was included from the classic tan and black to the very non-traditional green leopard. I have never seen a green hued leopard, but I'm sure that I would be equally terrified! The leopard-print jacket is such a fun way to add a print to your everyday look. The fit that I like best is the 3/4 sleeve cropped version in the classic tan and black color! This 50's inspired garment looks great for a night out on the town, a day at the office and even for running errands. So the next time your looking for something playful...slip into your leopard-print jacket and let the fun begin! meow!

Chanel meet Marie

Paris fashion week would not be complete without Karl Lagerfeld's ingenious imagination! His interpretation of Marie Antoinette's shepherdess days was stunning, dreamlike, and above all embodied Coco Chanel. If living on a farm meant that I could frolic around in straw colored tweed suit, crocheted dresses, taffeta and lace then sign me up! These looks are so wearable that even on the country themed runway looked effortless, chic, and maybe, just maybe, I really could milk a cow. Coco Country...

black on black

I know that this will appeal to all the new yorkers out there, but I think that the west coast is finally ready to give in to this sleek trend! Black on the balck is not only chic, but also very flattering for different body types. My number one concern about this trend is making sure that the black pieces are not 'dingy' in color. Its ok for the pieces to have different textures (encouraged) but should be similar shades of black. Piecing together black can be tricky, because you don't want to look too gothic, but lets admit to our selfs that "yes, i want to look a little rock n' roll!" To avoid a kiss revival don't go chunky with your footwear and stick with a body hugging bottom, yes, this means leggings, tights or straight leg denim! Grommets and studs accompany this look perfectly so if you don't have embellished tunics, tops or dresses add cuffs, bracelets or bangles to get the look. Top this look off with a straight and sleek hairstyle a smoky eye and a pair of ankle booties.

you smell good

I do love kate moss, i love her style, the fact that she is a 5'7" supermodel, her London look but above all I am loving that she is the face for YSL PARISIENNE perfume! It smells delicious, not in a food I want to eat it kind of way, but in the way people linger a little too long after a hug! To me it smells like a female version of a Tom Ford cologne. Definitely not your grandmas perfume!

the little black dress

We all have one in our closet, but for most of us it is probably crammed in the back alongside that prom dress looking thing waiting for a special occasion to be worn...Try forgetting about pairing the LBD with formal affairs and pair with ankle booties, a chunky necklace and a denim jacket! The LBD is great for wearing to the office too! Paired with tights, a low heel and a belted cardigan...waaa laaa a great alternative to slacks! Basically this item that is in the very depths of our closets can be effortlessly put together, chic and bring some fashion variety into our lives!

out with the old in with the new...season!

It has become clear that summer is over:( I woke up to frosty windows on my car and the overwhelming desire to dress in all things warm and fuzzy! This fall/winter is all about taking what you already own and reinventing the item to feel like new again! This can be a challenge, but I know that you can do it. Like many of you I store my clothes in bins for half of the year when I wont be wearing it. This takes some effort on my part but it also is a great opportunity for me to forget about pieces, and to get rid of some pieces that I know I definitely wont be wearing again. I always sell to local consignment stores, and donate the remaining items that don't make cut....a great way for a little extra cash and frees up space in my closet. Below are a few tips that will help reinvent your closet for fall!

1. group clothes by category...pants,dresses, skirts, tunics, etc...

2. get that sweater ball remover out and use it! it always calms my nerves and really makes the garment look new again!

3. look for purples, this color is so popular this season and is a great alternative to black!

4. feel crafty? heat seal some studs or rhinestones to an long-sleeve thermal top!

5. add a brooch to your coat...or a silk scarf to your handbag.

6. layer, layer, layer! and not just your tops, but also with tights and leggings, try wearing fishnets over your leggings kinda feisty but fun!

7. have fun! don't think that you have to go out and get a whole new wardrobe because the season changed...tempting, I know but not practical.

Do not forget about accessories, hair and makeup! These three things will always make or break an outfit....but above all stay true to yourself:)
